Feeling Unworthy- Your 3 Step Battle Plan for Self Limiting Beliefs
Welcome back to the arena Graceful Gladiator! Today we are discussing self limiting beliefs, especially as it relates to feeling defeated and unworthy. This week the Lord put a burden on my heart and I felt major spiritual warfare. As I prayed about what it all meant, He revealed to me that I needed to lean into this topic that we as women can face everyday.
Unworthiness can show up in our thoughts as “I’m not good enough”, but it can also manifest in thoughts like:
– I’m not good at following though
– Nobody cares what I have to say
– Why would anyone listen to me
– I didn’t work hard enough to earn it
– I’ll sound stupid if I speak up
– Somebody has already thought of this
– I’m not unique
– Other people can do this better than me
– My ideas are weird
– I don’t have the skills
– I don’t know enough
– I’m too old/young
– Nobody will take me seriously
– I’m lazy
– I don’t have willpower
– I don’t have the energy
– There’s really no point
If you, like me, have struggled with unworthiness then today you will hear a message on how to do something about it: how to refute self limiting beliefs and take action for a new, positive outcome. I even share with you a story about my elementary school days when one of my best friends did something small and insignificant that made me create some doubt about my worth and value. When you hear my story, I hope that you look back and reflect upon any moments in your past that may seem small but in reality, have snowballed to create a belief that is now limiting to the woman you are created to be!
God has given us 3 unique ways to become empowered against self limiting beliefs. Listen in for what they are and how to apply them this week!!
“Your own soul is nourished when you are kind, but you destroy yourself when you are cruel.”
Proverbs 15: 1
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but hard words stir up anger.”
“Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”
“Kind words are like honey–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
“A person’s words can be life-giving water; words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook.”
“Telling lies about others is as harmful as hitting them with an ax, wounding them with a sword, or shooting them with a sharp arrow.”
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
Proverbs 20:15 “Wise speech is rarer and more valuable than gold and rubies.”
