Valiantly Pursuing the Disturbed Life of a Gladiator
“Disturb me Lord.”
This gives me chills. It feels unsettling and uneasy. The word DISTURBED feels loaded.
Websters 1828 dictionary defines disturbed as:
Stirred; moved; excited; discomposed; disquieted; agitated; uneasy.
I don’t know about you but when i hear this definition I feel a quickening in my Spirit.
Let us be a generation of women who are disturbed, oh Lord!!
How to Get Disturbed:
OPEN YOUR BIBLE.
James 1:27 The Christian who is pure and without fault, from God the Father’s point of view, is the one who takes care of orphans and widows, and who remains true to the Lord—not soiled and dirtied by his contacts with the world.
Proverbs 21:13: Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.
1 Timothy 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Proverbs 28:27: Whoever gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes will get many a curse.
If you are starting out and need something to get disturbed about, get disturbed for others. Get disturbed on the state of women and children in need, the poor and destitute.
OPEN YOUR EYES.
See what is going on in the world. We live in a world full of violence and oppression: sex trafficking, child labor, genocide, pornography, physical, verbal, and sexual abuse, prostitution, and barbaric working conditions.
Don’t let it happen under your watch. Contribute to organizations that stop this. Spend your time and efforts to change your community, your city, your state, your world. Open your eyes.
OPEN YOUR HEART.
The third way to get disturbed is to think about the loneliest place inside your heart. The closet in which you have hid all of your baggage. The one you like to pretend doesn’t exist. What type of hurt lies there? Where you are isolated to you have been called for a reason.
And you may say or think to yourself, why can’t someone help me with this? To which I say friend, what if you, just like Esther, were called to stand for this?
What if you have everything you need to stand and be the light and shine a torch for others who are experiencing or have experienced the same shame or guilt or fear?
What if God wants to use you and work through you to bring healing for others?
REMEMBER YOUR FAMILY HISTORY, YOU COME FROM A LONG LINE OF DISTURBED GRACEFUL GLADIATORS.
Listen to the episode to hear their stories of victory. Which one of your ancestors represents the same call within your own heart?
